About the Welsh Terrier
The Welsh Terrier is a lively, intelligent, and spirited terrier breed known for its distinctive wiry black-and-tan coat and friendly personality. Originating from Wales, this breed was originally used for hunting foxes, rodents, and other small game, showcasing its tenacity and courage.
Welsh Terriers are medium-sized dogs with a compact, sturdy build and an alert expression. They are energetic, playful, and highly trainable, making them great companions for active families. Despite their terrier roots, Welsh Terriers have a calm and affectionate side, forming strong bonds with their owners and enjoying family life.
Their dense, weather-resistant coat requires regular grooming and hand-stripping to maintain its characteristic texture and appearance. Welsh Terriers thrive with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization.
