My name is Chiara. I created Hoobynoo in 2012 when I was pregnant with my second child. I wanted to put my degree in Graphic Design to good use and fit work around my children, so I decided to launch a gift company with products created from my illustrations.
I started off with a range of children's character jewellery that came with a little story for each character. After successfully getting the range into Liberties in London, I decided to expand into personalised gifts and a busy Christmas followed. After this, my husband, David joined the Hoobynoo team. He had been writing books for Disney and Penguin for more than a decade but he quickly realized that Hoobynoo was going to be a full-time job!
The turning point for Hoobynoo was when I decided that our dog needed a new pet tag and that I didn't want one of the boring metal ones; so I designed a tag myself and sourced a supplier.
Before we knew it, we had expanded into our very own industrial unit!
We have just celebrated our 12th birthday as a company and are planing the next stage of our business growth. Thank you so much for helping us to follow our dreams by supporting our small business.
